.:SAMUEL LEWIS:.

"Hey," the curly-haired lady-killer shouted as the magazine connected with his leg. Pulling is eyebrows together, he pointed in Kevyn's direction with a look of disapproval. "That is not the way to treat literature... Even if it's... girly and pink... and so very fab." With a swift motion, he curled the magazine in his hand and wagged it at her as if he were chastising her. Returning his gaze to the rolled up magazine, he took note of the bold print. "Never would have guessed you were a Seventeen magazine kind of girl. 50 Ways to flirt... Oh, scandalous. But you don't need that," he winked. "Joe's doing all the flirting for us."

Casting the magazine aside, he was able to catch Sage's joke and his eyes immediately shot in the direction of the rave-haired girl. He laughed brightly, the sound booming in his own ears. So he wasn't the only one seeing this little display. Not that he cared if no one else picked on them. He'd do whatever the hell he wanted. Because he was a boss. But with Sage chiming in, it was an added bonus and he couldn't help, but grin goofily. The mindless grin only faltered when Sage had surreptitiously summoned a spoon in her grasp.

"Sage, dear," he blinked. "Are you a wizard?" The grin reappeared on his features as he reflected on the oddity of the action. But hey, that was Sage. He was about to comment further until to his phone buzzed in his pocket. Naturally, of course, it was his wifey numero uno.

All she heard was Joe's voice, distorted from the way her pillow was covering her ears. Nearly kicking her feet in frustration, she breathed in and out until her face returned to its original shade. Raising her head up from her pillow, Kevyn was greeted with Joe's fist in offering of a fist bump. Bumping it with her finger instead of the recommended fist, Kevyn laughed. "Fist bumps are mainstream." It was true, fist bumps were mainstream. Rolling around her bed giggling, the redhead's face turned stony when she heard Sage's statement. Jumping up and running to Sage, hugging her and poking her cheeks, Kevyn showered her with endless friendly pokes and prods and hugs. "Sagey, you don't mean that. You honestly don't mean that!" But even with the joking and poking and prodding, Kevyn's face was as red as a tomato once more when she heard Samuel reading her magazine title out loud. Jumping up, she ran over to Samuel and snatched the magazine out of his hands.

"Gimme it! It's fun to read." Seventeen magazine WAS fun to read, especially when you're Kevyn and you enjoyed laughing at celebrity misfortunes. Realizing that she had admitted to reading the stupid tabloid in the first place, Kevyn blushed a deep red and dived into her bed once more, this time screaming in her pillow.

I tried...I did.:

Frey laughed a bit too much than she should've when Luna's only response was 'America.' France wasn't all much better, despite what people thought it was. France consisted of nicotine addicted teens that were still hormonal half of the time. America's teenagers were a bit better. "Let me just say that there are places with worse teenagers, I swear." She couldn't tell her about France, not now. That was a secret, and it wouldn't be a secret anymore if she did tell.

The teal haired punk grabbed some crackers from the counter and started eating, she was kind of hungry since she hadn't eaten very much since the party started. Gesturing at Luna with a hand holding a cracker, Frey nodded with her head.
"Oh, you're not as bad as everyone else, Luna, you're absolutely terrible." It was a joke, of course, nothing else. Frey was about to speak more when Luna cut her off, groaning when she saw someone coming in. Even over her high shoes Frey was confused, mainly because the lights on the floor obscured her vision more than they should. "Huh? Who's here?"

”Meet you there.”
Raphael said as his younger sister watched him hop into his rather luxurious car—more than luxurious in Jessi’s opinion. She raised an eyebrow as the car’s engine could be heard, announcing its awakening. Where was her brother getting all of this money to afford a Bugatti? And more importantly—why would he want to drive such an expensive car? Show off.. Jessica thought as she made her way to her own car, thinking about it just suited her just fine...though she wouldn’t mind getting behind the wheel of Raphael's vehicle. As she crossed the yard, her index finger tapping lightly at her chin as she tried to scheme away on to get behind such a luxurious vehicle—her cinnamon orbs switched from straight ahead to a side view when the sound of footsteps grew closer.

She only had to get a glance as the athletic legs that were making their way to the ebony musician to know who they belonged to. Her brows furrowed for a moment as she wondered what could she possible want now, but they quickly straightened out, the anger that was etched and annoyance that was etched in her face seeming to levitate and rest only in her amber globes, igniting a spark within them.

Thankfully for Harley that she spoke out, because Jessica’s mouth muscles didn’t even twitch in an effort to offer a word. She had nothing to say to the surfer blonde and she was just about to turn her back towards her when she began speaking.  The sound of her voice alone made her eyebrows furrow in annoyance—had her voice been this aggravating before? No. I’m just anger, that’s all. Jessica assured herself before she dug one hand from her pocket and extracted her car keys. Taking off the alarm, she unlocked the doors and opened the driver’s side. Slipping into her usual position behind the wheel, she allowed her slender digits to tap lightly on the steering wheel as her eyes glanced towards the board that sat on the floor of the passenger’s seat.  She could have simply reached over and grabbed it and flung it out of the car at Harley—it was a thought she considered for quite some time—but instead Jessica turned her fiery gaze on the blonde and tilted her head to the side, a signal to tell the girl to get in or she would not only get left, but her chances of seeing her board again were slim to none.

Thoughts: 'It's all fun and games until you're the one being teased.'

Joe chuckled as Kevyn chose to 'bump' his fist with her small finger. He imagined her small finger pressing buttons upon buttons as she got lost in her videogame world. Then the room filled with a monotone voice.

If Joe would have to be completely honest with himself then he would have to admit that he forgot Sage was in the room. He had been so focused on Kevyn and messing with her, and she had been unsurprisingly mute, that her presence had been the last thing on his mind. Joe quickly flushed with embarrassment as he brought his eyes over to Sage. She had teased them just like Sam had. The last thing he wanted was for her to think he was flirting with Kevyn, but that was exactly what it looked like.
His lips stayed sealed as he watched Kevyn jump up to hug and play with Sage in response to her teasing. Then, he brought his eyes over to Sam who was preparing to say something. You could tell he was reving up to make a comeback to the magazine by the way he deeply inhaled to compose himself. He then struck his finger out with a such drama, stage actors would sigh in jealousy. Joe had heard Sam tease about some sort of Seventeen magazine that held teenage flirting advice. Again, he remained silent--not showing Sam how his words slightly angered him--as Kevyn went to defend her magazine. She then turned a deeper shade of red and decided to give up and scream into her pillow. Sympathy tugged at his heart since he was the one who started this whole 'flirting' business, but he was at a loss for words. Instead, he brought his gaze back to the two teenagers who stared at their cellphones. Sage had been the first to look away from her screen, and Joe avoided eye contact. He was still ashamed that his actions might make her think he was interested in Kevyn. That only left Sam.
Joe's lips thinned, trying to decide how to start a conversation with the afro head. He knew that no matter how he approached the situation Sam would reply with more attacks at him. Joe decided to go with the most obvious conversation starter.
"Who are you texting? You seem so absorbed into the screen." he said. Then knew that Sam would only confess who he was talking to if he felt like his pride was being made fun of. Otherwise, he would probably reply with a smartass comment. "If it's your mother asking you to come home early, you could easily go..."
Joe smirked, waiting to see what his words would bring.

Thoughts: “He chose that over me!?”
Chosen Ensemble:

Leigh-Ann rolled her eyes at her sister’s comment. She could talk until she was blue in the face, that wouldn’t make Leigh-Ann change her mind about the party or Frey. She can still recall the conversation that they had via twitter and ever time Leigh-Ann thought about it, she could feel her throat closing up in anger.  Who was that weird blue haired freak to tell her about her relationship and for that matter put her pointy nose into it?

“Fucking wannabes.” Leigh-Ann muttered just loud enough for her sister to hear while she was dilly dallying on her phone. Of course Leigh-Ann grew curious to what her sister was up to and by the way she was acting on her phone, she was quite sure that she just wasn’t texting. Taking the initiative to be an nosy older sister, she logged on to Twitter to see what was going on. The first thing she saw was an update on the burn book but decided to check that later and focus on her sister. Reading the tweets between Sage, Sam, and Jasmine, Leigh-Ann had to give a little smirk—it seems that her little sister was about to be caught up in a love triangle, and if it continued like it was going she might just lose.

“Challenging Sage? Careful, you know that she’s an odd character. She might serve you poison tea!" Leigh-Ann teased at her sister before turning her attention to her sister’s feed in general to stumble upon what she thought she was going to wear to. Even though she sat there on the bed right beside her sister, the two went back and forth until Leigh-Ann enough and simply reached over and plucked her on the forehead.

“You forgot that you are twice as weak as usual and I’m sitting here beside you.”
She retorted with a devious grin before she decided to launch herself onto her sick sibling, pushing all of her body weight on top of her to keep her pinned down—though she couldn’t really go anywhere in the first place from the way Leigh-Ann tucked her into the bed. Resting comfortably on top of her sister, the fashionista decided to finally check the burnsite, it could probably tell her some juicy gossip from that party—even if she didn’t want to be there, she was Queen of Kingdom Crest and she had to know what was going down.  She didn’t bother looking at the blog first, being a person of fashion, she took her attention right to the “Whom Wore It Best?” to see just how accurate this “burner” was when it came to fashion. They were right about one thing—Harley was showing too much. Leigh-Ann wrinkled up in nose in disapproval but she was absolutely satisfied with what she saw from her two potential Beloveds, they were absolutely stunning and it was obvious to her that they could represent the Beloved title without a problem.

“I wonder what else juicy gossip this burner has on the party.” She said more to herself than to Jasmine as she clicked the next tab to the blog. An eyebrow rose at the title “Gone with the Wind” and she was curious if it had anything to do with the party but as her ash grey orbs hit the second paragraph, tears began to form without her consent.  She was simply frozen there on the bed as she continued to re-read the passage over and over, the words soon settling in her stomach. He had left her—for that?  Digging her teeth into her bottom lip to control the tears from falling from her eyes and caressing her cheeks, Leigh-Ann slowly sat up, cradling her phone in her hand as if it was fragile China.

Suddenly her sister’s room had become too humid—her sweater was sticking to her body and the tights that graced her smooth legs began to make them itch.  Without another word to her sister, Leigh-Ann left her room, closing the door behind her. She didn’t want her sister to see her in such a distraught state. Her hands were trembling with anger or perhaps it was heartbreaking sadness as she lifted one hand to her hair and dragged it through her voluminous tresses while her orbs continued to stay locked on the screen.

“If you read my last post, you should be updated on the affairs that are happening. Or, should I say, were happening. It has been brought to my attention that as our hearts thought Leigh-Ann and Victor  were a matched pair, yet it seems that the rebound Jane has won the race. Sources say that the recently hosipitalized badass and the poser were caught leaving the hospital together. Such a scandal! Oh, how we would sit in mourning. Not for the loss of the two, but because Victor is going to have to deal with such an idiot. Or maybe Victor was just chasing ass. Couldn't stand that his other was almost getting action from somewhere else. "

She was just torturing herself when she let herself re-read it countless times.  Her eyes  shut tightly as she let out a scream of frustration that was accompanied with her right hand hurling the phone out of her grasp and down the banister of the stair case.  Her eyes opened only when she heard the definite crashing and cracking of her phone as it came in contact with the first floor.

”Ms. Anderson..?” Her chest was rising and falling rapidly as she turned her head to see who was addressing her, only to see one of the many servants who worked for their family. It wasn’t the first time they had seen the eldest daughter lose her temper as took in the reddening eyes, the disheveled hair and the uneven shallow breaths, they knew that it was best to just leave the young woman alone. ”You have a guest...at the front door.” The maid said with a quick bow of the head before disappearing from Leigh-Ann’s line of vision.

She had attempted to fix her hair before she answered the front door of the grandiose mansion, but even with her ability to put on a face of appearance, when Leigh-Ann saw her Italian companion standing there in her midst, she could barely give him a faltering smile. If she was worried about him noticing how distraught she looked in appearance, Leigh-Ann didn't need to worry too much, as usual she looked unscathed outwardly but even with dropping eye drops in her pupils to get rid of the redness, there was nothing she could do about the puffy bags that was a sure give away of her recent crying--or the simple fact that when she spoke her voiced cracked in the beginning before smoothing out.

"Hey, sorry for the wait. Ready to go?" She asked in an attempt to sound cheerful. Stepping out of the house, she didn't give him much time to answer her as she closed the door behind her, an echo being able to be heard from even outside of just how empty such a grand home could be.

Thoughts: 'Hopefully I'm not walking into the line of a loaded gun.'

Harley stood, surprisingly sturdy, on the pavement as she waited for word from Jessi. But the only thing that settled between them was pure silence. She didn't know to take her movements as a sign of rejection, that maybe she wasn't even worth talking to anymore, or as patience before she made up her mind. Harley left distance between them, scared that if she moved an inch closer the situation might become hostile. The only sound that filled the silence was the beep of Jessi's car becoming unalarmed.
Harley knew that she sometimes read into things too much. It was one of her flaws. She was always trying to avoid someone getting upset and sometimes thought so much that it created new problems. Now that the small amount of three cans of alcohol had taken it's toll, she was left with her morals. She could recall the endless amount of 'Say No' videos they played at least twice a year at the school. She specifically remembered a young man saying, "Alcohol can turn you into a different person. You forget everything you care for and can barely remember your morals.". Harley had just realized that this was almost completely accurate. She had forgot the person she was: the athletic swimmer that found endless grace in water, the quiet sweetheart that's kindness was always taken advantage of. Instead she turned into a selfish, careless slut. It was almost the complete opposite of the Harley she knew. Which was probably why everyone had been so digusted in her. She was now realizing that she was becoming disgusted as well.
Yet, how could Harley even begin to describe this to Jessi? She knew that even if she tried to, her words would never describe how terrible she felt. Was it even worth trying? Or, would her words fall upon closed ears?
Harley then saw Jessi's curly hair fall along her profile as she tilted her head, a common signal that Harley had come to know. A small smile lit her features as she carefully, yet quickly, made her way to the other side of the car. Her fingers--slightly rough from the chlorine abuse--wrapped around the door handle and pulled. She squeezed her body in the small interior of the car. Just an hour ago they had been in the exact same positions, yet the emotions between them had been completely opposite.
Harley's pink lips did not part to ask for an apology, her tongue didn't move to offer an explanation. She wasn't sure if Jessi was ready to talk to her yet, so she remaind silent.
I would pay millions of dollars to be able to hear what you're thinking. Twice that so you could hear my own thoughts. So you could hear how terribly sorry I am.

“No. I’m a Sensei.”
Sage answered as cheerful as she could to Sam's question—which wasn’t really that cheerful sounding—before placing another spoonful of pudding into her mouth. Her eyes were closed when she did so since she was enjoying the chocolate sweet sliding effortlessly down her throat after it had coated her taste buds with its cocoa goodness. Imagine how surprised the raven-haired female was to see striking blue orbs and a red as a beet face sitting inches away from her—yes imagine it because when Sage opened her eyes, she seem to be expecting it the way that she simply blinked her eyelids in a nonchalant manner.

Emotions only crossed her face she felt the first poke which was rewarded with an eyebrow raise, then it was a hug...that caused Sage to have to move from her position and actually be…touched for such a long time. That was rewarded with her closing her eyes and furrowing her brows in a shudder as she realized, the onslaught was ongoing along with the pokes and prods.
”She’s…touching me…so much..” There had never been anyone except Kevyn who was able to touch Sage in more than a tap and actually get away with it, for it would have been anyone else, Sage might have thumped them in the neck to try to paralyze their moments.
Luckily for Sage, Sam was now parading around Kevyn’s magazine which gave Sage time to recollect herself—as if she was that disheveled from the encounter—and stand up to brush the front of her dress off, the pudding cup and spoon seeming to no be on her person anymore.

Now since no attention was focused on her, no one had actually seen her move away in her usual silent manner to discard the pudding cup into the waste basket in Kevyn’s room. No, the only thing they would feel was her small body mass lowering down beside Kevyn on her bed. Reaching out a hand, she caressed her gamer friend’s head while looking over at Sam, her face unreadable as she tilted her head to the side as she watched him click away at his phone, no doubt texting that of a friend he called Jasmine and then to Joe who was trying to make conversation with him. It was odd to have Joe there…but it wasn’t discomforting, in fact as Sage continued to stroke Kev’s hair in a soothing manner that only Sage was capable of doing, she wondered if the musician would like to pair up with her in their forensics class sometimes...oh listen to her. Thinking about a partner for her special class…what was wrong with her, she never took partners…everyone knew that but that didn’t stop her from opening her mouth and relaying what she thought.

”We should be partners in Forensics, Joe.”

Just as she said that, she felt her phone vibrate and she simply had to look down to see the message across the screen from Dee. Using her free hand, she unlocked her phone and responded all the while giving her head a slight shake—the poor girl was new and she was already dragged into some Kingdom Crest foolishness.

To: Dee
From: Sagey
I see. We’ll talk later then.

After the message was successfully delivered, Sage turned her gaze back on Joe, awaiting his response to her once-in-a-lifetime purposeful. Though it made perfect sense to Sage--being that the male was always at her house or at the local university with her, it was simply a logical solution in her opinion. Although her gaze was focused on Joe, her attention was given to Kevyn who still laid there with her face buried.

"Cheer up. I read Seventeen too." And there it was, proof that Sage Zachenburg could actually be a regular teenage girl.

Jessica said the moment that Harley found herself situated in the car. There was nothing she could say without turning towards the girl and letting one hand off the steering wheel and backhanding her across the face.  Her grip on the wheel tightened, the blood flow to her knuckles stopping, causing them to bare the pale color of white. It would take all of her restraint not to connect her fist with that pretty face of Harley’s.

The silence alone was killing Jessica, it wasn’t the typical relaxing silence that she enjoyed—this was suffocating and she could barely breathe. Placing the key in the ignition, she listened as the car roared to life just as she shut her car door. Taking one hand off the wheel, she pressed the button to her radio, bringing it to life with its loud music. The first song that blasted out seemed to fix Jessica’s appearance—rap. But that never really calmed her, only riled her more and so she pressed the button to her cd player to let her favorite classical tunes take over the speakers.

Satisfied with her selection, Jessica placed her car in gear before taking off down the empty street of the rich and decadent, never mustering a word as they exited the front gate of the community. The anger that was radiating off of Jessica’s body began to die down slowly as her attention was focused on the road and her ears on the sound of the violin that was oozing from her car speakers. Her grip on the steering wheel loosened and for quite some time, she had forgotten Harley was in the car even though her mind kept flashing back to the scene at the party.

Why had she even gotten angry? It was no like her to lose her cool in front of anyone, especially over some…girl. That was the last thing she ever did. Usually she shrugged it off and didn’t give a second thought. But this was different and she couldn’t say exactly why..at least not aloud. Inwardly she knew what made the Athletic girl so different. She had always had a liking for the girl for the simple fact she carried herself so well and with pride but that scene tonight showed Jessica a completely different side, one she didn’t appreciate.

The more she thought about it, the more confused she became. As she neared her own community and pulled up in her yard, Jessica was still pondering if she should just let it slide this once. It wasn’t as if Harley knew that Jessica had siblings—she never shared her personal life and school with anyone…but then again it was wrong for the blonde to just assume things without knowing anything.

An exasperated sigh left her lips as she cut the engine and took out the key, the music fading away and being replaced with the same silence. She had closed her eyes now as she let her digits tap on the steering wheel, nearly lost in her own thoughts, it wasn’t until she furrowed her brows from the feeling of someone there that she opened her eyes and let her amber orbs float over to Harley.

“Well fuck me.” She muttered aloud to Harley before dropping her hand from the steering wheel. She had forgotten to take the person she was the most upset with home and now here she was…at her house. Opening the car door, she undid her seat belt and got out. Before closing the door she learned back in and tilted her head upward towards Harley.
“Come on. I’m not going back out. You can just crash in my room. We’ll order take out or something…”

Standing upright, she shut the door and didn’t even wait for Harley to follow her or not before she took the short trek up to the front of her house. Opening the front door, she walked in to the smell of a home cooked meal, a signal that her mother was up and a bout in the kitchen. Being raised with manners and respect for both of her parents, Jessica made her way to the kitchen so that she could at least introduce Harley to her mother and ask if the girl could stay.

“Mama? I’m home. I brought a friend over...do you mind if she stays?”

Jessica asked as she entered the kitchen. Her mother was standing at the sink, looking out of the window and up into the sky, mumbling something about how it looked like it might be raining before turning her attention to her daughter, wiping her hands on the white apron around her waist. It was obvious that the woman was much more refreshed since earlier from the way she looked at her daughter and gave her a breathtaking smile.

“Sure sweetie, where’s your little friend at? If she’s hungry, she can help herself to dinner.” Her mother said as she moved away from the window and passed Jessi only to poke her head out from the kitchen to see if she could get a glimpse of this person was that her daughter had brought home. It was so rare that anyone came home with Jessica, except for her childhood friend—and he was practically family to Claire and that didn’t particularly count as a “guest”.

"Yeah you should've." He winked, taking his eyes away from the search in order to focus his flirty attention on her. He chuckles as she stated that only to realize that the question was merely rhetorical. "I guess I'm a mind reader. That should come in handy. He enclosed his hand around the precious item with his tongue creating a bulge in his cheek. "Mmhmm...But I know it better." He declares as he relaxes his arm and continues the elimination. He noticed Harely entering Jessi's car and figured that would be interesting but didn't dwell on it any more. It wasn't his business.

As she looked down on her device he used mild body language to move her more away from the cars near them. He picked off the early birds who got a decent parking spot so now he was just working on those that didn't seem like she would drive them. Of course this was mostly just gut since you can tell a lot about the type of car. He took out any trucks since she just didn't seem like that kind of girl. He just didn't get that vibe.

Sue him if you disagree.

He looked over as she stated which one was hers and smiled. He couldn't pick something better himself. She may not seem as though she's in love with it but she is probably more found than she believes she is. "Well props for not being the only ones with cars that don't cost more than our houses." He smiles, nodding over to his Volvo. He gets a bit of shit for having a rather common car and of course his is also silver to make it even easier to glance over but he didn't really care all to much. He was sixteen, there was no need for big fancy cars that made him look as though he was going through an early midlife crisis. He chuckles at it. He actually has been to various pools late at night so he wore a mysterious a smirk. "Sounds like fun, shall we go m'lady?" He questions, getting over to open her door.

When Frey explained, Luna just shrugs again. "Actually the only thing wrong with American teens is how selfish they are. They are way more terrible people in many places but you just gotta wonder if it is really they're knowledge or how behind they are in the media." Of course she was referring to the countries that were just now entering the fifties when it came to the media and played old cigarette propaganda and such everywhere. At least she smoked with the knowledge that it's one of the most terrible habits ever.

She waved off the offer as she watched her punching bag head over to them. She supposed he though it was polite to say hello and her stomach was turning with disdain. She didn't even take the light teasing as a huge compliment as she would have and she glared at the seventeen year old boy. "Jessie. That want to be musician who makes lame songs that get stuck in your head. You remember that hilarious one I showed you called Nice Guys. Apparently that's for me. He called me a cheating whore on Tuesday." She explains as the shy face showed up and it was on. The red female jumped up. "What are you doing here?" She spat.

.:ASHER BRENNAN:.

Asher's pale eyes remained fixed on Jacob's muscular form and he resisted the urge to sneer. He couldn't care less about the chagrin that laced his voice as he spoke his name. It ignited a complacent fire within his gut, fueled by primal satisfaction as Carmen was leaving his side to come to his own. Sucks to suck, he supposed with an internal grin. It seemed stupid that he was silently reveling in the misfortune of another. But how could he not be contented by the fact that the odds were moving in his favor? He was glad that his appearance was inconveniencing the brute. He was glad that, in the end, Carmen was leaving with him. And he didn't prevent the easy smirk that tugged at the corner of his pulvinated mouth. It was sneer that could be mistaken for easy charm, but that was hardly the case. The handsome leer was the result of his own dark amusement.

The smug smirk that graced his features only widened as she finally left the Bad Ass's side to approach him, his soft, ample lips moving with his less than audible laughter. She had a suave way about her that seemed far too easy for her own good, as if she were a movie star strutting down a long isle to finally step on the stage and claim her reward. It was countenance that he found entertaining, especially when she flirted so obviously. Not that he was complaining, of course. He liked a girl who knew what she wanted and didn't beat around the bush; It was refreshing.

As her beautifully delicate hand was raised to snatch the cigarette from his mouth, he raised an inquisitive eyebrow. Keeping his hands firmly in his denim pockets, he threw his beanie-covered head back and chuckled whole-heartedly. The lightheartedness of their flirtatious exchange almost made him forget that Jacob was even present. Unfortunately, it was hard to ignore a Bad Ass who was a few feet away and with a reputation of violence that exceeded his own. Although, he must admit, he was hardly intimated. If he were, he wouldn't be trying so hard to take a stand where Carmen was concerned.

Asher was vaguely listening to Carmen's sweet words as his pale eyes remained focused on Jacob. A prepossessing side-smile appeared on his handsome face as he returned his undivided attention towards Carmen. "I'm comin'," he breathed. With his hands still placed within his jeans pockets, he advanced on Carmen, reducing the little space that was initially kept between the two, so that his was a breath's length away. He inclined his head so that he may look down at her, his forehead almost touching her own. "Then let's not start such a filthy habit then, huh? It's gross, trust me. And I already have Travis bumming cigarettes off of me, the little shit. I don't need to be supplying for you, too, babe," he chuckled as he took the cigarette from between her soft, delicate lips. He bent it between his index and middles fingers and cast it onto the grassy earth beneath their feet. He felt a cool breeze pass between the two, the wind causing his lips to tingle from the sudden draft. Only one way to warm them... he mused with an internal grin that matched the one gracing his handsome exterior. Without a moment's hesitation, his heavily lashed eyes fluttered shut and he placed his ample lips against her own. The hand that once held the cigarette moved to hold the sweet curve of her face as he brushed the beautiful tresses of her hair, away from her face. The kiss was genuine, but it also served as a message.

He was hers. And, right now, she was his.

.:SAMUEL FREAKING LEWIS:.

Sam's dark gaze was still perusing the contents of his inbox when he heard Joe's pitiful attempt at teasing him. Raising a thick eyebrow, Sam slipped his phone back into the fabric of his pocket and grinned rather maliciously in Joe's direction. Such a poor, poor boy. He need a lesson in comeback. Desperately. A master such as himself would be a beneficial tutor, but he would consider his service to be off the table for Mr. Joe. Sam would rather be hanged by his big toes, upside down, over a river of ravenous crocodiles than have to spend an extra moment in the presence of Sage's wanna-be puppy dog. So that was a 'no'. Joe would have to suffer with his pathetic, witless conversations.

"Oh, Joey, my dear, pitiful boy," he crooned. "When you opened your lips to speak, I was so very excited for you. I thought maybe--just maybe--this kid will say something worthwhile. Ya know, something that would make me rethink my life or bawl with tears of embarrassment... But then you go and say something as stupid as that" He crossed his arms over his chest and sighed, with his lip pouted as if he may break into tears at any moment. For a moment, he considered saying that his mother was dead just to make Joe feel like a smelly turd for a quick second, only to announce a random "Just kidding!" and then... BAM! Laughter would commence. But he wasn't sure if he wanted to venture down that road. Too controversial. Too morbid for the present company, despite his obvious joking. Some may not take it that way. Sucks for them!

Shaking his head in disapproval, Sam finally uncrossed his arms and adopted a complacent expression as he looked at Joe. "But if you must know," he began with a laugh. "It was your mom. She wanted to know if I wanted to come over tonight for a little hanky panky, if you know what I mean. But I told her that I didn't want to wake you up while you were sleeping tonight. See, I can be considerate towards you." He winked at Joe lasciviously and wiggled his eyebrows in Sage's direction. "Oh and Sage is my ride home, anyway, Big Boy. Jealous much?"

The redhead stopped screaming into her pillow when she felt her face getting hotter than normal. If she yelled too much she could probably rapture something, and that was not good. Calming down slightly, she breathed in and out through her nostrils and felt a hand caress her on her head. She could just tell that it was Sage, judging by how soft it was. The person then stroked her hair in a Sage fashion, ridding Kev's mind of whatever doubts they had about who it was. The redhead didn't rise from her pillow until she felt absolutely calm and ready to take any teases that came her way. Raising up, she heard Sage's voice tell Joe that they could be partners in the class that Kevyn hated. Frey shared that class with her, and it was as if Satan created the class himself. The teacher hated Kevyn immensely, and Kevyn hated the teacher back. Groaning, she pushed up her glasses and pouted.

"What about meee?" She whined. "I don't like Forensic Scienceee." Deciding that it was best not to argue for a partner, she lowered her head and rose again when Sage spoke. "Y-You cannot be serious. You cannot read Seventeen." Standing up and shaking Sage by the shoulders, Kevyn yelled in a comedical manner. "Where is Sage and who are you? Tell me, please!"

She let go after a few seconds and moved onto the mini fridge, grabbing an entire box of cookies. Taking two and eating them as quickly as she took them out, Kev laid them on the ground and sat upon her bed once more. Here came Samuel the Sarcastic, bashing Joe as hard as he could. She watched with amusement as Sam dished out a burn to Joe and ridiculed him, all in front of the two females in the room. While Joe did somewhat deserve it, Samuel didn't meed to put Joe down. It wasn't very becoming. Throwing a cookie at him, which hit the curly haired guru in the shoulder and fell on the floor, Kevyn pointed at him accusingly
. "You're acting like a mean dog, so you're being treated like one!"

Frey nodded with understanding, she could see where Luna was going with this. Out in the world there are countries with no idea what is going on overseas and generally sheltered communities. She's heard of a country at still thinks WW 2 is going on. Raising a sharp eyebrow at Luna's description of Jessie and look of disdain towards him, Frey tapping a single black nail on the countertop. She remembered the video. It was funny, straight up her alley in humor, but now that she found out it was being used to ridicule one of her closest friends, the hilarity of it decreased every second. "Whatever, he's not worth it. Probably just jealous that you're prettier than all the girls he's managed to get combined."

Her grin towards her best friend developed into a sharp and pointed scowl as Jessie made his way to them. All she did was lean back further onto the countertop and cross her right leg over her left. This guy was apparently a wannabe musician. She'd ask Leighton and Jessica to make sure that he'd never become one. Glaring at him, the teal haired party host laid out a cutting remark. "Sorry, but last time I checked the retard party was in a different neighborhood."

Status: Leaving the party with Dreck

"Hey, I wasn't about to get into a car with a stranger!" she laughed as she playfully stuck her tongue out at him. "Besides, I didn't know that was going to happen," she shrugged. She knew that most of the party-goers would be too drunk to remember this tomorrow, so she thought she was pretty much in the clear, then she remembered the Burner. Dammit! she cursed herself. The Burner was sure to put something on the website that would make everyone remember and in case they missed it, will wrongly inform the other students on what happened. And then she remembered Jessica and the musicians. Her chest heaved as she let out a loud sigh.

"Ha, it's just my little toy before I get a much better car." She said patting the top of the miniature automobile. "I have my eye on a much bigger fish." She looked at Dreck suspiciously when he came on the passenger's side. She was about to remind him that he was supposed to be the driver and that he was on the wrong side when he opened up her door for her. And they say chivalry is dead."A knight in shining armour and a gentleman?" she smiled as she eased into the passenger seat. "You didn't really have to," she said looking up at him before closing the passenger door and waiting for him to join her in the minute car. In the darkness of the car, she saw the illumination of her phone's screen. I'm sure it can wait. She thought as she waited for the screen to go dark again. "Of course, why else would I suggest it?"

Thoughts: 'Man, forget this. It's not worth my time.'

"I'll think about it." Joe replied to Sage's offer to be partners. It's not that he didn't want to be partners, he was just weighing the fact that if he were to become partners with her his grade might fall because he'd get easily distracted. To him, Sage was most beautiful when she was in her natural element: science. He loved to watch the way her hair fell over her shoulders when it was down, and how she pushed it back with her slender hands. He adored how the small space between her eyebrows knitted together when she was concentrating. If he became partners with her, he may endanger himself to fall for her harder then he ever could have imagined.
But Joe's small daydream about Sage was quickly interrupted by a voice so dipped it sarcasm that it almost oozed it. Joe tilted his head over in Sam's direction, giving him a hooded stare.  He shook his head at Sam's words and chuckled to himself. Joe knew that if he responded, he'd just start a stupid pissing contest between the two of them, and frankly...that wasn't worth his time. He listned to Kevyn's words, but then removed himself from her bed.
"I think I'm going to head home." he said. He moved his eyes over in Sam's direction, expecting a stupid remark about him being butt hurt or something. Not that Joe really cared anymore, his patience with the fluffy haired freak was wearing thin. Joe usually had control of his anger, but with the two girls being around...Sam had began to get under his skin more than Joe would like to admit. The best thing to do was leave. "Thank you for inviting me to your little gathering, but it's about time I head home. It was nice to see you Sage, and nice to meet you Kevyn." As Joe walked over to the bedroom door, he looked down at Sam. "Sam." he said before nodding goodbye.
He then walked out the bedroom, not even bothering to look back.

Perfect for running away from drunks:

Laying down the cards as she sat down on the bar stool, Kevyn faced her formidable opponents with a dark smile. The redhead had gone through her classes, passing through the day with flying colors. Coming out of school, she had sat down on her bed and played a game on her console. When she encountered the terrible 'You must purchase blablabla to continue onto the next chapter' part of the game, she left her house and headed to the bar in order to gain more money. The bar was Kevyn's go-to place for cash, since there were times that she just couldn't get anything from her mother. Her father was a bit more careful with his money, hiding it in hard to reach places where Kevyn's five foot two and Frey's five foot eight figures could not reach.

As she laid out the cards to the men on the other side of the booth, Kevyn took a sip from the can of beer at her side. Although she had promised herself that she'd stay completely sober after the party, the redhead constantly found herself drinking at any opportune moment. It was a terrible habit, but she couldn't shake it. However, she has not become drunk, and didn't plan to become drunk. It would interfere with her system, which was bad.

"Little girl, are you sure you know what you're doing?" She had just finished laying out the cards and one of the men on the other side spoke. Kevyn did know what she was doing. It wasn't as if she was new to the place, she had been here constantly before. However, this particular trick wasn't one of her regulars. She had picked up a set of trick cards from a joke shop, each numbered with a seven of hearts. When she laid it down, she'd ask them to pick a card. The wager would be five dollars at the beginning, and with each challenge would increase by five. When they picked it, Kevyn would pretend to think for a bit and guess. They'd fork over the money and she'd be home free.

Glancing up at the man who spoke, Kevyn smirked widely and gestured towards the cards.
"I bet that I can guess whatever card you pick when you pick a card." The men laughed raucously, obviously a bit tipsy judging from their slurred voices. "O' yeh? You think you can dew it, dontcha?" A mere nod was all the drunk got in response, causing him and his buddies to laugh again. "Well how abou' I pick a card then?" He snatched up one of the cards and shielded it from her view. His buddies crowded around, glancing at the number. Kevyn pretended to think deeply, though she already knew the answer. Looking up into the drunk's eyes, she laughed. "Whatcha laughin bout?" The small laugh descended into a tiny giggle, though it was still there. "Your card, is the seven of hearts."

The drunk glanced at it and blanched. "How did yew knoe tha?"

The redhead shrugged, feigning innocence.
"Lucky guess. Hand over the money, then." The man on the other side pushed one of his friends over and left the booth, Kevyn chasing after him outside. "Ey, you drunk! My money, remember?" He turned around, eyes glinting madly in the post noon sun. "I don't need to give yew anything, little gurl." Mad as ever, Kevyn took a rock from the ground and hurled it at the drunk, taking advantage of his not sober state.

The man turned around fully, charging towards her. Moving out of the way, Kevyn watched with amusement as he swerved and moved in her new direction. She moved to the side, watching as he got dizzy and fell to the floor. Shrugging, the girl made her way back inside and took her beer and cards from the booth. Going outside again, she stooped down and looked in the drunk man's wallet. Inside was an I.D, twenty dollars, and a candy wrapper. Taking a five dollar bill and dropping it back onto him, Kevyn smirked and walked away, taking out her phone to text someone on her contacts list.

Just took out a raging drunk and earned five dollars. Wanna meet up with me at the mall?

After the party, Frey walked through the halls gaining congratulations and compliments. A month later, that was still going on. People handed her their number or told her to meet up with them somewhere. Of course, Frey had no choice but to go, she didn't want to anger the wrong people. It was safe to say that her popularity increased somewhat after the party, and because of this Frey didn't want to have another one. She wasn't doing it for popularity, just for fun, and if she kept on hosting people wouldn't think of her parties as special. It'd go from: 'Look, Frey's having a party!' to 'Oh, she's having a party again.'

As soon as the bell had rung, Freyjakiu left the classroom and headed off to home. Her head had been itching all day, and she had texted her aunt in class in order to gain a diagnosis. The only response was that she'd have to go home and have her check it out instead. Moving to the parking lot, Frey saw that the car was taken already. Kevyn. The blasted girl had taken the car, leaving Frey to fend on her own. Sighing, she moved away from the lot and headed to the front of the school, where groups of friends were socializing. It wasn't even two seconds until she was approached by Michelle.

Michelle and Frey were not friends. They were not enemies either. The two had nothing against eachother, the barrier being that they were in different cliques. Frey gave a nod in Michelle's direction and the dark haired girl nodded back. Scratching her head and watching as flakes fell onto her shoulders, Frey sputtered and heard from Michelle.

"You should learn how to take care of your hair." Raising an eyebrow, Frey turned towards the writer and spoke. "Excuse me?"

"I said you need to take care of your hair. The dye in there is already damaging it, making it extremely unhealthy. The last time you washed it was probably a month ago, making it unbearable."

"So, what should I do with it?"

"Get home and wash out the dye. When you do, straighten it out and make sure to use a lot of hair food."

Frey nodded, shifting her weight on one foot to the other. "Thanks." Michelle nodded in response, and the two began standing there awkwardly. Michelle looked over at Frey, who was standing there waiting for something to happen. Frey felt a tug on her shirt and looked over. "You can go in my car." Raising an eyebrow once more, Frey held up her hands.

"You don't have to-"

"I said, you can go into my car. I saw your cousin take yours. Therefore, you do not have any transportation and my brother's coming to pick me up, though I don't need it, giving you an opputunity to get home." Frey dolored as Michelle took her by the wrist and dragged her over to the black mini van where a blonde boy was sitting in the driver's seat. "Who's this, Mich?" Frey was shoved into the car and looked up at the boy in front, who was undoubtedly handsome but geeky at the same time.

"This is Freyjakiu, Kristian. I expect you to take her home, no where else. Flirting is prohibited." The blonde boy held up a finger but the door was shut by Michelle, prompting Kristian to accept the fact and drive away from the school.

"62442 Laynton Place, 15th Avenue," she recited her address from memory, strapping in the seat.

"Oh, you're that girl who had that rocking party.."

----

Arriving at home, Frey waved a goodbye to Kristian and went inside. Her aunt was immediately in front of her, patting the tealette's head and scratching it, being met with flakes in response. "Sweetie, you need to-" Frey held up a hand. "I know." She walked away from her aunt and headed into the bathroom, taking out all that she needed to wash out the dye and straighten it back out again.

----

An hour later, Frey finished up washing her hair and grimaced in the mirror. Her before teal hair was now an light blonde, ruining the overall grunge appearance she had before. Groaning, she dried her hair and left the bathroom, leaning onto the wall. It wouldn't be good to dye it again, so she'd probably stay like this for a while. Looking over herself, Freyjakiu shrugged. This shouldn't ruin her mood, should it? Her aunt's car was in the driveway, allowing Frey to grab the keys and leave the house, driving over to the mall.

When she got there, Frey quickly parked and entered the food court, grabbing a pretzel and sitting down on a chair and munch.

After dragging Frey into the back of her brother's vehicle, Michelle went back into the hallways of Kingdom Crest, scanning around for her locker. Finding the red box that held a whole bunch of British, Writing, and Japanese memorabilia, Michelle opened it and took out a bag full of books. She had founded the book club as soon as she got to Kingdom Crest, astounded at how seemingly illiterate the students seemed due to lack of reading. Although she was a bit busy, being so that she was the leader of the choir as well, Michelle made it all work. She scheduled her band's meeting times after any club meetings, scheduling her writing time whenever she felt like it.

Moving through the halls, she bumped into someone, causing her bag to drop down and come books to spill out.
"Watch where you're going," she told the offending figure, looking up at them.

"Are you sure you want to say that?" She recognized the voice instantly. Leighton Layne always appeared at the wrong moments for Michelle, which were the right moments for him. "Leave me alone, Leighton." She picked up her books and her bag, gliding away. The Brit grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her, nearly causing the books to fall again.

"I will repeat myself. Are you sure you want to say that?" She rolled her eyes at his persisting and continued moving through the halls, Leighton still hanging on her side. She wasn't in the mood for this, she had book club to go to and there was a bit of band practice at six, for the concert was a smash hit last night and they needed to make a new cover.

Shaking the dark haired male off, Michelle walked in long strides but was STILL caught by Leighton, who this time hoisted her up onto his shoulders and walked her to the meeting room. Thrashing as wildly as she could, the Jap screamed out loud for him to stop Leighton paid no attention and only ceased when they arrived at the meeting room, placing her on the ground again.

"Do that another day and I will write out your ending." Leighton laughed, unfazed, tickling her sides and saluting her as he walked backwards in the other direction. "Just came to say that I would be coming to practice later today." Michelle sighed, there was no winning with him. Opening the door, she sat down at the table and waited for her members to arrive.

Walking away from Michelle in her Japanese Leighton-induced rage, the black haired Brit moved through the hallways with grace and charisma. Not many people were there to watch, except for the teachers who were leaving their classrooms in order to go home "Madame Deadre! I love your haircut!"He said to one of the younger teachers. "Mister Devon, your suit is excellente!" He said to one of the older ones. He was met with looks of gratitude and was showered back with compliments.

The teen grabbed his guitar from his locker and moved through the hallways again, not complimenting anyone this time. The only thing on his mind was music. Just music. Nothing but music. He buttered up the principal, by giving them compliments, prompting them to allow Leighton to snag the auditorium before any other club could have it. He needed to practice a bit more on guitar, though Michelle told him last night to touch up on keyboard before practice. So he placed his guitar against the wall and used the school's keyboard to touch up on some music. 'Learn how to play some punk rock and alternative.' He remembered Michelle say. Tickling the ivories of the piano, Leighton remembered a song Matt gave to him and started to play it from memory.

Delilah was hanging at the school's swimming pool with her feet dangling over the edge, with the cool water caressing her feet. The swim team didn't have practice today so she was alone and it was the perfect place for her to sit, think and relax. She lay on her back, her feet still in the water, staring up at the sky. Spring was approaching and the weather was getting better everyday. Delilah liked winter but after a while, she grew tired of the cold weather. Her only consolation was that she could drink lots of tea, coffee and other hot caffeinated beverages. "I feel like I have somewhere to be," she stretched, still gazing at the deep blue, cloudless afternoon sky. She took her phone from the inside of one of her nude heels. She placed her phone in her shoes when she removed them to place her delicate feet in the unruffled water. She sat up and sent a text to her dark-haired friend.

To: Sage Sensei :3

Wanna get some tea later?

A notification from an organizer app on her phone popped up on her screen. "Oh yeah, book club! she remembered. She removed her feet from the pool and allowed them to dry a little before she got up and put her heels back on. She checked the time on her phone. I still have some time left. She thought as she hastily left the swimming pool and entered the main school building. Her heels clicked against the pristine floors and echoed off the walls of the empty hallway. She entered the classroom to find it empty, except for Michelle - the leader of the book club. "So what's today's agenda?" she smiled as she walked in.

Aaron was wandering aimlessly around the school, he was restless because he didn't want to go home yet because he had to meet Jasmine at the Cafe later. He also didn't have practice or drama club but he knew that both Michelle and Jasmine were busy at the moment. As Jasmine told him yesterday, she had cheerleading practice so it will be a while before she gets out and if he recalled Michelle had a book club meeting. He hadn't seen his friends for the new year and he couldn't wait to see them again, since they apparently had so much to tell him. Chicks and their gossip.

He checked his watch, it was only 3:30. The school was mostly empty, save for a few students who had detention, club meetings and other extra curricular activity. "Maybe I should've joined the book club?" he asked himself out loud. He laughed, it's not like he'd be allowed in. Michelle established the book club and he doubt she would let him in to ruin her precious club. "Reading isn't my style anyway," he shrugged. He did the occasional reading on the days he felt lazy but that was very rare. "Maybe I should pay my dear Michelle a visit?" he asked mischievously as he made his way to the classroom where the club meeting was being held. It didn't take him that long to reach the classroom since he was already wandering the halls of Kingdom Crest. He placed his hand on the ajar door. "Happy to see me?" he grinned at his short, tanned friend.

I bought this in Japan:

A few minutes later, the door opened and Delilah Grant came in, asking what they were going to do today. Michelle smiled. She liked Delilah, Delilah was nice to her and mostly nice to everyone. Along with that, she wasn't especially annoying or whiney, she was a good person. Laying out one of the books onto the seat next to her, Michelle gestured to it. "Today, we'll be touching up on the book theif." It was one of her favorites - the plot, the characters, the genre, the overall feel of the book. Michelle loved how it took a turn and was narrarated by Death himself during the Nazi times in Germany, and didn't contain your normal wishy-washy main character. Everything of the book was to love, and Michelle could honestly rave on and on about it without stopping, just like she could do with Japan.

"It's a wonderful story, really, and it takes place in Germany. I don't know if you've read it or not, but if you did you'd know that the narrator is Death himself. He notes that he was extremely busy at these times, something that isn't odd, considering the fact that World War Two was escalating. It's tragic, but beautiful at the same time, and I really think you'd like it-" she was interrupted by the door opening. Grabbing another book and getting ready to place it on another seat, Michelle rolled her eyes when she saw it wasn't a member but Aaron Descartes, mischievous guy number two who had shown up uninvited.

"Aaron. What are you doing? If you don't want to read I'd be happy to show you the way out. If you do want to read, I have some copies of 'The Book Thief,' I'd like to lend you." She gave him a warning glare. If he messed up her club, she'd mess up his face.

The aftermath of Frey’s part had resulted in nothing but heartache for the beautiful brunette. Carmen thought she had finally found someone to confide in, manifesting in the unapproachable Jacob Dentt, only to be sorely mistaken. They had finally begun to connect on a deeper level only for him to retreat inwards at the first sign of her unofficial flirting companion, Asher. For the leader of the bad asses, she figured him for more of a fighter, his fearsome reputation evaporating right before her very eyes. The last thing she wanted was for them to fight over her, but for Jacob to lash out at her, as though it was her fault she didn’t notice his true feelings seemed completely unfair. She still cared about Jacob, more so than she probably should have, which only made his drastic change all the more painful. The tension between them eventually reached its apex in a rather nasty confrontation over Twitter, only after Carmen noticed his subtle flirtations with Sage’s cousin Tiana. She would have been lying if she said it didn’t hurt her feelings, especially after he accused her of betraying his confidence. It seemed as though Jacob quickly fell back into his womanizing ways, leaving Carmen’s heart aching after her attempts to confide in him. Not even Avery knew about her past, her deepest darkest secrets, and the terrible burden she kept rooted in the expanse of her soul. Jacob was the one person, besides Asher, she felt could share in her affliction, but his words only served to harden her heart with anxiety and terror.

Before she knew it, salty tears had begun to stain her cheeks, a bitter taste forming in her mouth as Asher began to intervene on her behalf. Eventually he too, wanted to talk, forcing her silent cries to evolve into full blown sobs. She’d never let anyone see her cry, but in the sanctity of her room behind her heavy wooden door, she received a remarkable moment of security. It was to her immense surprise, that Asher wasn’t at all angry, and, unlike Jacob, he was more than willing to stay by her side. Carmen’s sobs quickly ceased and the corners of her perfectly poised lips twisted into the faint curvatures of a smile.

The following weeks passed by in a blur, Asher’s unique brand of doting forcing the disturbing remnants of her argument with Jacob back into the recesses of her mind. Their relationship had begun to evolve into a more serious flirtation, eventually reaching the prospect of a true partnership. If their texts had been any indication she could soon find herself with the official title of “Asher’s girlfriend.” The mere idea brought a dazzling smile to her face, especially with the inclination that he’d be arriving at her lavish home after he had finished work. That opened another litany of problems, especially since her father had departed to Greece for business and she had spent the last week alone with her adorable little daughter. Travis had been “nice” enough to keep Carmen apprised of her studies, taking the opportunity to play with Cecilia, who unfortunately adored his attention. It was always nauseating to Carmen, but at least Trav seemed harmless, at least for now.

Running a free hand through her long Chestnut locks, she slowly stretched the limbs of her feminine form, the soft white fabric of her shirt clinging to midriff and exposing the taught contours of her silky, olive skin. The curly topped head of her daughter resided in Carmen’s lap, the steady rise and fall of her chest betraying her peacefully sleeping form. The sight brought a happy smile to the mother’s face, her face leaning down to place the gentlest of kisses upon Cecilia’s flawless forehead. For now Carmen would take solace in this brief moment of respite, waiting for the time when Asher would arrive and their fate as a couple would be realized.

The vibration from the guitar strings numbed Joe's fingers in the best way. He was fooling around with a song that he was personally writing; singing to himself in the Band Hall. Every few seconds his voice ended as he reached over and added more lyrics to his journal. He felt like he was on fire as the lyrics just seemed to seep through onto the paper. Joe admired women and, to him, they were best described through a poetic ballad.

A thousand words can fall through,
Yet none of them could begin to describe you.
She's the type of girl who could,
bend your world with such a simple word.
Yet with millions to choose,
I just can't seem to choose you.

I can only write this song to tell you,
how much I love your...

That's all Joe had so far. In the depths of his thoughts, he wanted to finish the sentence with black hair. But, each time he began to sing the verse, the words 'red hair' came out instead. After the third time, Joe slammed the pen against the paper. His frustration was getting the better of him. For the life of him, he could not figure out what was happening.
He shared Forensics with Sage, but he found himself spacing instead of watching her lately. And when he saw Kevyn in the halls, he couldn't help but pull her into a huge bear hug. The two of them were becoming best friends, and Joe liked that. But with each step closer to Kevyn, he felt he was getting further from Sage.
A groan echoed throughout the soundproof room as Joe ran his hands through his hair in frustration. He didn't know what to do with his feelings, what to think of them. They were just jumbled and scattered all over. So scattered that he jumped a little when his phone rang to alert him of a new text. He rested his guitar against his knees and fished for his cellphone out of his pocket. The corner of his lips turned into a smirk as he read Kevyn's text.

To: Self-proclaimed Hufflepuff
From: Joe

I'm not even going to ask about the money. But, I will gladly hear the detailed story at the mall. Meet you there?

Message Delivered

His smirk turned into a smile while he placed his phone back into his pocket, getting ready to pack up his guitar. At the last second, he wrote the words 'red hair' at the end of the verse.

Perfect for running away from drunks:

Leaning against the brick wall next to the bar, Kevyn watched as people passed by her. The drunk still had not been touched by any one else, his friends abandoning him as soon as they saw the red headed geek take out their comrade. An intense surge of adrenaline had surged through her during the short fight, making her want to do something equally as risky afterwards. That rush, whether it came from stealing money from her parents or tricking a group of older men, was something she needed. It was something she loved. Like food. She needed it and loved it as well.

Gazing into the sky, Kevyn contemplated taking her car and going home. If she did go home, her parents would thoroughly suspect nothing. If she went out at the moment they'd surely be suspicious, no? Thinking as hard as she could in which was the best decision, her thoughts were interrupted with a ballad sounding text tone. Joe had texted her a response. Eager to check what her best guy friend had said to her, Kevyn accidentally dropped her phone on the ground, not damaging it but startling her nonetheless. Picking it up from the ground, she sighed. What has he done to her? Situations with Joe made her a bit more interested, a bit more eager to go on. Normally, if it were a text from anyone else (except Sage, Sam, or Dee perhaps) Kevyn wouldn't have been so excited to check it. But with Joe, it was different. He made her phone, something Kevyn treasured, fall to the ground. He made her get jumpy and excited, even more than the Sims 3 did.

'Maybe it's just new friendship' she thought to herself. A small voice in the back of her head whispered, 'Maybe it's a bit more.' Kevyn pushed that voice into the depths of her mind before looking at the screen of her phone where Joe's message lay.

To: Joe-Bro
From: Kevy-Kev

Cool. I'll be there in a jiffy. Meet me at Gamestop.

A valid meeting spot for Kev and her friends, Gamestop gave the redhead a few moments to check up on the radical games in its selection while waiting for someone. Moving off of the wall, Kevyn glanced down at the drunk she'd had beaten early before. Recalling that he still had some money in his vicinity, Kevyn looked around for any witnesses. Seeing that there were none, she stooped down and grabbed his wallet, taking out all the cash inside and pocketing it. Surely he wouldn't mind nor remember, right? Running away from the scene with the hopes that she would not be caught, Kev unlocked her car and sped out the lot, heading over to the mall.

When she arrived, Kevyn quickly looked for the store which held all of her favorite games. It was up ahead on the second floor, right next to that girly place people shopped at. Forever 22 or something like that. Entering the store, Kevyn wandered around it, glancing at familiar game titles and game cards they had available. Checking that she still had the stolen cash, Kevyn looked around for something she could buy.

.:ASHER BRENNAN:.

The raw, pungent odor seeped through the flimsy paper mask that covered Asher's mouth and nose as he pulled on the trigger to release the spray of fluorescent yellow paint. Why anyone would want such an obnoxiously vibrant car was beyond him, but he wasn't being paid to judge. He was paid to repair the cars and do the occasional paint job for whomever was willing to pay for it. With undivided concentration, his azure eyes narrowed as he took in the well defined angles and curves of the vehicle. It was a 1961 Jaguar E-Type from what he could see, which only contributed to his earlier question. This pansy-ass paint job makes the car look like shit, he mumbled to himself. Although he could not afford to indulge his love for vintage models, it didn't stop him from admiring its captivating frame. With this blazingly bright coat of yellow paint, he felt as though he was doing the car a disservice. The only thing getting him through it all was the thought of visiting Carmen after he was finished. She was his motivation, the only  thing that could keep him form feeling utterly miserable on such a seemingly inconvenient day. All days were inconvenient, he mused to himself. Especially when he was forced to waste his talents on shitty paint jobs.

After adding the last sheen of paint, Asher pulled his face free from the paper barrier that was supposed to keep the paint fumes at bay. It failed. But that didn't matter. All that mattered now was him going to pay Carmen a visit. He felt the pace of his heart quicken and the corners of his mouth quirking upward into a smirk at the thought of her... Her long, dark, wavy tresses that were soft to the touch... Her stunning green eyes, heavily veiled with thick layers of eyelashes... The delicate curves of her features... And her gorgeously sculpted, tanned body that he had to struggle to pull his eyes from. Perhaps today would be the day that he asked her to be his girlfriend. Over the phone she had teased him about asking her out, but he would never dare to be so cowardly as to do so without being far-to-face. Phones were impersonal and his question was far from that.

Earlier that day he had picked up a bouquet of flowers, an assortment of pink roses and white daisies. It was nothing too big or flashily, but quaint and charming. And right now, they were resting in the front seat of Ol' Sheila. It wasn't like he was asking her to marry her, but if his mother had taught him anything, it was to be somewhat chivalrous. No point in over-doing it because that was for push-overs and lame-asses. He wouldn't elect to be either of those.

"Yo, Mitch," Asher called out towards a man, hovering beneath the underbelly of a black pick-up truck. It looked a lot nicer than Ol' Sheila, but that hardly piqued his interest. Upon hearing Asher's voice, Mitch pushed himself out form underneath the vehicle and gave him a curious look. A meaty hand moved to scratch the stubble along is scruffy chin as he regarded the other man.

"Done already?" He asked, his eyes shifting towards the direction of the other garage where the paint jobs were held exclusively. Asher raised an eyebrow, but nodded. He knew that Mitch wasn't doubting him, but for some reason, Asher's work never ceased to amaze him. With a single grunt, Mitch waved him away and positioned himself beneath the vehicle once more. "You do good work, Brennan. See ya tomorrow."

Asher shrugged indifferently "See ya, Mitch."

As Asher got into the front seat, after repositioning the flowers carefully onto the passenger seat, he spared a look at his rather tattered looking clothing. He worse a plain white T-shirt that clung to the contours of his muscles and old, blue jeans that were covered in rips and tears. Decorating his once clean shirt were streaks of oil and sporadic sprays of yellow paint. Upon closer inspection, not only did the paint taint his clothing, but spotted his arms and cheek as well. He could go home and change, but then he risked having to explain to Avery where he was going and what he was doing. The Brennan sibling had worked out a deal about the whole Carmen situation: Act like it's nothing. But that was hard. Avery was the one person he truly confided in and to not tell her that he was going to see Carmen was mentally anguishing for him, but he refrained from uttering a word.

Instead, he just made his way to Carmen's house, paint-covered and oil-stained. She'd just find a way to make fun of him for it anyhow and he couldn't say he minded. their teasing one another was just another favorite pastime of theirs.

* * *

When Asher had finally reached Carmen's home, he approached the door with his usual lazy confidence and rang the door bell, leaning against the door with the bouquet dangling indolently by his side.

Although Tiana was just stepping into her fourth week at Kingdom Crest, the friendly ballerina had already grown accustomed to the afternoon rituals inside the territorial high school. Today was just like any other day after school, empty hall ways with only a few scattered students here and there that either had an after school activity to attend—or they were making plans to meet up with friends, perhaps at the mall or whatever these small town children spent their free time. Kingdom Crest was nothing like the PS 116 that she attended—everyone knew everyone and whether you were new or old, they all seemed analyze your every movement to see where you belonged, if you deserved their attention.

Tiana learned on the first day that she stepped inside the doors of this sordid establishment and eyes were placed upon her graceful form that she wouldn’t fit into any of the already established “cliques”. She walked with such grace and her held high that one would think she belonged to the legendary Beloveds—what a funny name for snobbery—but because she had her nose buried in a book at all times, people assumed she would fit in better with the Gurus—some place she rather not be since all the brainiac talk was a bit dull to her, she got that enough at home—so then the assumption switched to Athletics when people got whiff of her dancing abilities—or really just staring at her physique—but she didn’t enjoy “sports”, and so that was out of the picture. So what was she? A harlot? No, she looked too much like a graceful angel to even dare associate with such a group, and she had no musical talent her body so there was no way she could be a Musician. So they tried to stick her into the “Misfits”—that was quite a shocker for her, something that she wasn’t too pleased with and that resulted in her giving a tongue lashing to one of the blonde bimbos that had the audacity to approach her. For the next week people thought of her as a bad ass, something she simply rolled her eyes at—though her New York accent and attitude didn’t seem to help much.

As she approached her locker after giving a friendly smile her and there to the people who looked at her in curiosity but spoke no words, Tiana finally realized what category she fell into at this travesty of a school—nowhere.  Placing her books into her lockers, she hummed melodically to herself as people passed by, some just to get a glimpse at “odd” new girl. Sad to say that even now people were quite disappointed to find out that nothing outwardly was odd about her. Slamming her locker closed, she turned around just in time to see people looking away and as she walked down the hall way to the meeting of the Book Club, she could hear the idle whispers—it seems that everyone in Kingdom Crest always wanted to know someone’s secret.

It didn’t take long for her to get the Book Club—something she quite thoroughly enjoyed for it held a few people she could actually connect with—not to mention her dearest friend was in charged, in fact it was Michelle who had convinced her to join…just like it was Michelle who had convinced her that moving in with her aunt and cousin wouldn’t be too bad—for now she was right.

“Good afternoon, beautiful!”
Tiana chirped out happily to Michelle in her thick Northerner accent as she entered the room, brushing by the raven-haired male. Olive grey orbs connected with him and then to her friend’s narrowed slits, causing a sigh to escape from her lips as she took a seat beside the red-haired female she had known as Delilah—a good friend of her Sage’s who just happened to stay at their house the previous night where Tiana was honored to play in her fiery locks. She flashed her new found friend a smile though her eyes stayed locked on the tresses.

“How are you, Dee? I see your hair is looking rather voluminous still this afternoon!” Tiana inquired in a boasting tone of voice that was equipped with just a hint of playfulness. She knew that Michelle didn’t like idle chitchat much during once the meeting was in session—but what harm could it do when the leader was holding a death glare showdown with someone?

Seeing this as a perfect opportunity to check her messages, the hair enthusiast whipped out her kitty covered phone, only to encounter a text message from the first person who had made her comfortable here at Kingdom Crest by taking her under their wing so to speak—Travis. It was apparent by the luster in her eyes and the fast pace that her fingers moved across the touch screen, that this “friend” was certainly a reason for cheerful mood. They had plans after this club meeting and for the first time ever—Tiana wasn’t that interested in books, but more of what was waiting for her at the end.

Soft sniffles echoed throughout the silent Chemistry Lab as raven locks cascaded over the right shoulder of a female in waves. Chocolate orbs tried their best to focus into the eyepiece of the telescope as porcelain colored digits adjusted the lens to a satisfying position. Or so what the logical genius thought was satisfying. Her tear ducts seemed to be in full drive today along with the runny nose. Pulling her eyes away from the lens, Sage looked up and blinked the allergy caused tears away as she sniffled, waiting for the sneeze that was teasing her.

With squinted eyes and her the crook of her right arm coming to her rescue to hide her face, Sage let out a rather...well adorable sneeze that was softer than a child’s. Luckily for her no one was around to hear it—a sneeze that she had been hold all day. In fact, the raven haired female had been hiding quite a bit of things lately, her small “cat cold” being one of the few. She hadn’t announced to the world that she had gotten a new tattoo like usually by flaunting it about, and that was because she received a matching tattoo with a friend…a male friend. Sage may have been a logical genius but that didn’t make her stupid to the high school world around her. She knew that eventually it would get about but she didn’t want the labels that would follow. But she had made the slip of posting it on Twitter while communicating with her partner in crime…that site was becoming a hindrance on her usual logical thinking.

It wasn’t that bad, at least not to Sam..he didn’t seem to care about anyone knowing about…anything. Maybe that was what made Sage so nonchalant about the manner—then again Sage seemed nonchalant about everything, did she even have feathers that could be ruffled? As she directed her attention back to her foresienc work, her mind drifted off to a more dangerous thought—explosives. During the month, that was all she seemed to work on now or even cared about—that and tea—for she had spent countless hours, and even weekends locked away in her precious solitude, having no contact with the outside world. That is when her cousin allowed her the privilege of said privacy. The thoughts that transitioned over to her blonde haired, overly ambitious cousin made Sage lose her concentration and focus out of sheer annoyance. It wasn’t that she didn’t get along with her cousin—they had study sessions and sipped tea while they discussed books together. But her cousin…well she was making Sage become more social.

Just like magic, her phone vibrated alerting her that she had a text message, as she kept her eyes focused on the specimen she was studying, she elongated her free hand to take hold of the phone. Her orbs didn’t even bother to move away from the eyepiece, she was one hundred percent who it was sending her a text, Delilah. The two had become quite friendly in the past month and it seemed that Kevyn, Delilah, and Sage were becoming quite the good friends.
Finally removing her eyes away just to read the message, Sage began to type out a response.

To: Dee
From: Sagey
Of course. Meet you at the café, or do you need a ride?

Once the message was successfully delivered, Sage couldn’t help but think of her other ginger friend who was probably doing what she did best—playing video games. Her mind flashed back briefly to the night before as she presented Kevyn with a board game that was made specifically for her. It was fun at first for her gamer friend when she realized that it had involved Pokemon, but it wouldn’t be Sage if there wasn’t a little demented twist involved in the game. The Pokemon didn’t just fight to win, they fought to the death, which was fun to see how Kevyn would react.

Cherishing that memory of making her friend happy yet while torturing her at the same time, Sage decided to send her out a text message while she was taking a small break from her work, she wasn’t aware that her friend was already with someone and already had plans—or so it seemed.

Dee and I are going to the Café after her book club, will you be joining us?

With another successful message sent, Sage placed her phone back on the smooth surface of the table and bent her head down to look into the eyepiece, her running nose causing her to sniff once more—her usually pale nose now a deep red.

[b]“That damned cat.”
She muttered to herself as she adjusted the viewing of the optical lens.
