| Our story begins in Ormére, where two sisters were chosen as the respective rulers of their Kingdom. They were inherently different, but could overcome their differences with ease, for they were sisters, and their familial bonds took prescience. One day, however, a secret was revealed between them, one that could never be forgotten. The sisters separated, a vow of permanent silence crafted and upheld between them. As the years past, the sister were groomed and readied for their roles as Queen in each of their respective kingdoms. Maera, who had always possessed a penchant for the night and wonders it held, was tasked as the ruler of Bosveuil, the Kingdom of darkness. Her cold and ambivalent attitude spread across the land like the eternal snowfall that covered her kingdom. An unlikely partnership was formed between Maera’s kingdom and the neighboring principality of Blaru. The Duke, a powerful and wise warlock, was struck by the Queen’s ruthlessness in dealing with her foes. He desired her protection, for Witches and Warlocks were the least trusted of the magical races. They were considered reckless and dangerous, the only race able to form contracts with demons. Maera accepted the Duke’s offer, and an amicable partnership formed. The two meet weekly to discuss the plans for the prospering empire. As their power grows, they set their sights on the East, where Maera’s sister dwells along with her Fairy allies.
Contrarily, Xaniae, Maera’s sister, was dubbed the ruler of Rospellem, or more aptly known as the Kingdom of Light. It is home to continuous summer and spring, its lands constantly bathed in golden light and the trilling of small birds. Xaniae is a benevolent queen, choosing to rule her kingdom with kindness and accommodation instead of the ruthless apathy her sister instills. Though still in possession of her no-nonsense attitude, her altruism should not be mistake for leniency. Xaniae will sooner right your mistakes with biting words than simple forgiveness, her lovely smile never once faltering from her lips. It was only inevitable that the Duchess of Fairy would take notice in Xaniae’s radiance, her own state, Beynette, severely falling into economic troubles. After a long meeting and several other brief correspondences, a treaty was established and Beynette slowly began to reclaim its former glory.
Inevitably, the peaceful armistice between the four nations came to a close, as the Duchess of Fairy ambushed a Witch’s caravan containing priceless magical artifacts. It was a poor attempt to garner so much needed mana crystals, for times in Beynette were harsh and unforgiving. A famine had struck Rospellem, spreading to the Fairies’ land and poisoning the majority of their crops. Hundreds of thousands of lives were lost, drastically reducing the amount of available fairy dust. With dust there was no magic, making progress virtually impossible. The Duchess of Fairy was left little choice, with starving people and her ally tending to her own peoples’ needs, she chose salvation in the form of mana crystals. Both Kingdoms recovered, but the pilfering of his precious stones angered the Duke. He went to Maera, calling for retribution for his lost artifacts. The Queen agreed, sensing the perfect opportunity to strike vengeance upon Xaniae for the unspoken secret years ago.
The wheels or War begin to turn. Whose side are you on?

| The Shroud- :
Deep in the underground of Blaru dwells a secret sect of Witches, fighting for equality in their male-dominated society. They began small at first, peaceful protests and minor demonstrations, but as their ranks swelled so did their brazenness. After several member of the Shroud were imprisoned on the grounds of treason, The Shroud took up arms, bombing the statue of the Duke in the town’s center and magically rearranging the rubble to form the words: “We Will Not Be Silenced.” After their demonstration, The Shroud was only spoken of in hushed whispers, the citizens too afraid of inciting their wrath. In the present day, Warlock’s have loosened the yolk of suppression from their witch brethren, but their prospects are still meager. The Shroud continues to meet in secret, their powerful allure attracting more Witches to their cause. Soon…their ultimate goal will be realized; Warlocks will no longer control their fates. They will take destiny into their own hands. Demons- :
Demons are the product of another realm, their physical bodies unable to penetrate the barrier that surrounds Ormére. They can only be summoned by powerful Witches and Warlocks at Grimhall, where the two parties can enter into a sacred pact and be given immense power. Once this deal has been struck, the Witch or Warlock is branded with the mark of their demon. The two will always be in correspondence, the demon either occupying a recess in the back of their host’s mind or choosing to take a body and possess its form. If the latter, the host and demon must always be no more than 100 feet* apart or death is quickly assured. Social repercussions are unfortunately grave for those that chose to undertake in this process. Those that are marked are allowed to rejoin society, but are typically ostracized and regarded with scorn, for tainted magic is corrupted. Those that happen to survive the pact and live longer than a year, have found salvation in Bosveuil as neither the Queen of Darkness nor the Cenor are strangers to demons. Those bound to demons are typically cursed to die young, most souls too fragile to handle the binding process. However, there is always the exception to this rule, extraordinary Warlocks and Witches who have conquered their demon, living in a beneficial symbiosis. They are forever changed, their features manifesting to resemble their demonic counterparts. Their gift is near immortality and increased magical prowess. Those bound with demons have magic unparalleled by anyone except the Queens and the Duke and Duchess, but they are cursed with occasional psychotic breaks and malfunctions in their vast power. In general, demons are not to be trusted. If you are not well prepared, you can easily sell your own soul, or worse…find yourself permanently trapped in Grimhall with no hope of return. (*30.48 meters) Cenor- :
The Cenor are a race of fear eating demons living in the Kingdom of Bosveuil under the direct control of the Queen of Darkness. They thrive under her rule, the fear she elicits from her enemies keeping the entire population happily fed. They hear the whispers of war and thrive on its potential inevitability. The more chaos the world falls into, the stronger the Cenor become. However, there are those that would rather spend their time in peaceful prosperity, finding other ways to obtain nourishment then harming the innocent. These are few and far between and are typically regarded with scorn by other members of society. As a whole, the Cenor are a seductive and powerful race, considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ormére. They dwell in the immediate vicinity of the Queen’s capital, their homeland considered the capital of the western hemisphere of Ormére. For as long as history has been recorded, the Queen of Darkness has ruled over the Cenor, their loyalty to her rule dating back from the very beginning of civilized life. For now, the Cenor remain steadfastly loyal to the Queen, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be swayed by a powerful alliance. As a whole, the Cenor are draped in mystery, their beliefs and customs looked at with disgust and fear by the other races of Ormére. Their striking beauty only serves to intensify the mystery, people mistakenly being drawn into their web of destruction and fear. They have a tendency to corrupt everything they touch, their inherent magnetism a powerful lure despite their dangerous reputation. Withes and Warlocks- :
The Witches of Blaru have only recently achieved a small victory towards individualism manifesting in the supposed extremist organization The Shroud. The organization has only existed for a period of eighty years, its major activity limited to the last ten years. Before this time period, Witches were extremely subjugated, considered the weaker and more unpredictable. Warlocks always regarded them as untrustworthy and incapable of self-control, much to the Witch populations’ chagrin. Instead, Witches were mostly kept indoors, dealing with the cultural and artistic aspects of Blaru. One of the few positives of their situation, Witches are considered to be the best artisans in Ormére. Their proficiencies involve the crafting of clothes and many different types of artistic mediums. Society in Blaru had always been a strict Monarchy, the Duke never occupying the role of King because the Queen of Darkness had always been considered sovereign. They were still an independent nation in spirit, subject to their own rules and customs, but the Queens of each of their respective lands still demand respect: namely in the from of their titles. Of course the alliance between the Duke and Queen brought swift changes to the kingdom of Blaru. Witches and Warlocks alike were now brought into contact with the Cenor, some suspicious to their new allies. After a few squabbles and skirmishes, the two races have final acquiesced to the others presence and life goes on uneventfully. Customs and traditions have been exchanged, and the two nations live in mostly peaceful assimilation. Once The Shroud began its demonstrations, Witches were finally afforded minimal rights, although the main consensus still revolves around the archaic way of thinking. Witches can now hold official positions, engage in revelry, and participate in politics outside the home more readily. However, Warlocks still regard them with scorn and distrust, Witches’ opinions still considered insignificant when compared to their Warlocks counterparts. Fairies- :
The race of the fairies is divided into two categories: the pixies and the faye. The pixies are a small and petulant race, the more tricky and cunning of the fairies. They are small in stature standing at about four to six inches, with small, mostly translucent wings. They are prone to lies and acts of cunning, harassing the other members of the Light Kingdom and fluttering out of sight before their unsuspecting victim can enact vengeance. In contrast, the Faye are a peace-loving and gentle people, detesting violence and calling for the unification of the lands. Most regard them with haughty distaste, seeing them as the most naïve of the nations of Ormére. However, despite their inherent nature of equality for all, they are in possession of fairy dust, one of the rarest and most prized commodities in the entirety of Ormére. Fairy dust is responsible for imbuing non-magical items and people with temporary magical powers. It’s used for the crafting of magical weapons and gives fairy-kind their ability to fly. Above all, Fairies must always tell the truth. The repercussions are great for those that attempt to break this rule, resulting in permanent deafness or in some cases disfigurement. This pacts dates back to the first fairy and the deal struck to grant them the ability to fly. The fairies best quality, bedsides their disarming nature, is their innate ability to manipulate words. A fairy can twist and confusing even the sharpest of minds, easily making up for their inability to lie. Elves- :
Just as the Cenor are to the kingdom of Bosveuil, the Elves are to Rospellem. They are the Queen of Light’s people, having been in her kingdom since its first beginnings. They are a proud and pompous race, their traditions numerous and exclusive. They pride themselves on their individuality and customs, considered the wisest and most-skilled welders in all of Ormére. Everything the elves make is beautiful, from mundane household objects to weapons; their craftsmanship is a highly prized commodity. Despite the Elves pomposity, they are in possession of Ormére’s history, their people the first to begin keeping records of the world’s beginnings. After many protests from the Dark kingdom and indignant responses from the Elves, it was finally decided that the books should remain in the Elves possession, but all books would be copied and sent to the Kingdom of Darkness where they would be stored in the Cenor’s main capital building. Physically, the elves are a tall, majestic people, with highly aquiline features and an inherent superiority. They are extremely hostile to the Queen of Darkness and the nation as a whole. They view the Kingdom of Light as the “true” kingdom and will not hesitate to jump on the pro-war bandwagon. Despite their refined features and overall elegance, they are a violent and martial people, sooner to stab you in the back then stray from their beliefs. They are loyal only to their Queen, and those that stray from this belief are typically ostracized.

| ✤ ✤ ✤ ✤ ✤ ✤Respect. Do you have it? If not, this is not the place for you to be. You will show the utmost respect for not only the creators of this role-play, but for the participants. There is no need to be rude to one another and if it just so happens that this may occur, you will be banished from any other role-plays that the creators create. No one wants a negative Nancy around.
✤Listen. Do you hear that? No? Then you weren’t paying attention! It’s important to listen to the updates and anything the creators say so that you won’t either be left behind, or just repeating the same questions over and over. Please don’t be that one person who thinks they know everything little thing, and winds up knowing nothing at all.
✤Quality. Quality posts people. Even though this is an advanced role-play, I rather you give us two nicely written paragraphs, than six erratic ones.
✤Enjoy. This is a role-play and everyone is here to have a good time. Please don’t rain on anyone’s parade because their post isn’t as long or detailed as yours. A critique or two is fine, but there is no reason to tear someone a new one because of a simple grammar mistake. Don’t do that. It’s barbaric.
✤Drama. Oh no she didn’t! Oh yes she did! See that? That’s not needed in the OOC. In the IC, we encourage it. If there is any bickering, we will handle it by kicking you out. No ifs, ands, or buts, so if you have a problem please either brush it off, or talk about in private.
✤History. Okay. So we like to write a lot, so what? The history is pretty lengthy but we encourage you to read it. Aurvea worked very hard on it! If you read all of these rules, post “Long Live the Queens”, when you want to reserve. Plus if you don’t know the history, then more than likely, your character won’t be accepted.
✤Active. Well we all know what this means. So let’s not get too wordy with this rule. Don’t join and never post, that’s all we ask. I know that can be hard but, at least try.
✤Role-play. We’ve come across a few people who seem to get too upset over posts. Please be able to decipher reality from fantasy. Take nothing personally that happens in the IC, it’s not meant to be that way. That being said, try not to make a post that you KNOW will offend someone. ✤Third-Person. It’s what we like, and we hope you like it too. Third person please.
✤Romance. Ain’t nothing wrong with a little bump and grind. As long as it’s not the entire aspect of the role-play. We want you to have affairs, secrets, and the whole shebang. But let’s not forget that it doesn’t have to be centered on romance. If we see that all you are doing is trying to make little cupcakes all the time, we will ask you to broaden out only once.
✤Characters. Now we all know that filling out character sheets can be both extremely enjoyable and exhausting at the same time. That being said, we ask that each person has only two characters per person. We want to ensure that you won’t feel overwhelmed to post! Reservations will last for three days. Now this is extremely important. Do not post your character sheets until they are COMPLETED. This is also important: First come, first serve! There will be an equal number of males and females. You may choose to make two females, two males, one female and one male, it doesn’t matter. ✤Have Fun. At the end of the day, just remember that this is a roleplay. We are all here to enjoy our hobby. Nothing should be taken too seriously and nothing should be taken too lightly. It’s all about balance and relaxation.

| Tree of Eternity
- :
[b]It is said that the Tree is what gave birth to the four nations. A fight in the heavens between the great Gods Zeus and Hades broke out, declaring that they were both all powerful. “This shall be resolved!” both gods declared and decided on a resolution to prove who held the most power. By taking two halves of a seed that was embedded in their womb, they combined the two opposites and cast it down onto the planet. There a tree began to grow. Hades believed that the evil would prevail, and Zeus believed that goodness would. To their dismay, the tree sprout into something glorious--two sides that grew in harmony, balancing one another. Inside were two fetuses. As the unborn children grew inside the "womb" of the tree, they sent two of their most trusted servants down to care of the tree, these two were to look after the tree until the children were born. As the tree grew along the lives inside, something marvelous happened. It began to give birth to the land, different races inhabiting different parts of the land. It is said that the two lives inside the Tree was the cause, and the four races took to worshiping them before they were born. Two races believing that it was the dark side giving them life, the other believing in the purest side. To this day, the Tree of Eternity is heavily guarded by a powerful magic that is unmatched and only those that belong are granted access inside the precious domain. The tree is right between Rosepellum and Bosveuil but it is impossible to journey from one side to the other without powerful dark magic or pixie dust.

| ✤ What year is this based in? Think Tudors. The 15th century. So no phones and lights, loves. ✤What are chapters? Chapters are the main events that have taken place in the roleplay. While other events and occurrences will be taking place, chapters are written for one specific event that influences other side events.
✤Can we be demons? Demons are not playable races. The only way to even have the least bit of association with a demon is to be either the Dark Mage, or be a powerful enough warlock/witch to summon one at Grimhall. You will not be powerful enough in the beginning in the roleplay, so please do not try.
✤What is a Dark Mage? A dark mage is a warlock who has struck a deal with a demon. Please refer to the Lore underneath the category demon for more details.
✤Can my character die? Yes, but that doesn't mean you can not make another character. This also doesn't mean that death is encouraged in the role-play.
✤Why is the calendar in seasons? Because we like it that way. Both kingdoms only have TWO seasons. The Dark kingdoms have Autumn and Winter, whereas the Light kingdoms have Spring and Summer. These rotate at the end of each season.
✤What are the time units in this roleplay? The time units are in moons. Clever, eh?
✤Is their any romance? Of course but please, take it in private or just fade to black.
✤Is there a map? No, there is not and we can not say that one will be coming.
✤Can we know others secrets? Only if the person gives you permission to. If not, then you can not just know their secret. That's horrible and tacky.
✤More will be added.✤ | |
